It’s summertime and I plan on living my best life on the California beaches. With COVID19 and restrictions on personal care businesses, I haven’t had a pedicure in what feels like decades. My feet are a bit of mess, but not as bad as they used to be. I used to suffer from my hands and feet peeling and heels that were often cracked. I used to joke that I was like a snake shedding my skin seasonally. What I didn’t know at the time was that peeling was not normal and that my body was giving me a signal letting me know that I was actually DEFICIENT in essential fatty acids and that my gallbladder was struggling!
Dry skin, itchy feet, skin peeling off the feet is associated with gallbladder dysfunction, congested liver, and your body struggling to properly emulsify and digest healthy fats you are consuming. If you are consuming adequate amounts of essential fatty acids, but your feet aren’t baby soft and your skin is often dry and itchy, you may want to start supporting your gallbladder and liver to optimize your body’s ability to emulsify and digest these healthful fats.
Some of my favorite food sources to support your liver and gallbladder are beets, dandelion root tea, lemon juice with warm water, endive, cucumbers, garlic, and onions.
For more personalized support I recommend getting on a free 30 minute consultation call with me and we can discuss ways to support your liver, gallbladder, and essential fatty acid digestion.
